Financing Options — Corporate Sponsorship

Pursue Corporate Sponsorship

Many organizations recognize that sponsoring an employee in the Ivey Executive MBA program is an excellent investment in the strength and diversity of the organization.

If your employer chooses to sponsor your studies, be sure to let them know that they may be eligible to claim your tuition as a tax deduction. Contact Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for more information.

We would be pleased to provide you a useful business case template for applicants to use as a starting point when approaching their organizations for sponsorship. It will help you communicate the benefits of having you obtain an Ivey Executive MBA. Please contact our office for guidance and support in presenting your case for sponsorship.

Financing Options — Self-Sponsorship and Loans

Self-Sponsorship

Some applicants choose to pay for the program personally, either in part or in full. If self-sponsorship is pursued, there are two points to remember.

ONE

A Tuition Tax Credit is available to participants who pay all or part of the program fees. We recommend that you determine the amount of tax savings that will be realized.

TWO

The participant and his or her spouse may be eligible to make tax-free withdrawals from RRSPs under the Life Long Learning Program of up to $20,000 each. These withdrawals must be repaid over a period not exceeding 10 years.

Preferred Loans Through Financial Institutions

Ivey has developed the MBA Loan Program in partnership with Scotia Bank, Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust, Bank of Montreal and ING Direct to create attractive loan packages for Ivey Executive MBA candidates. Terms will vary between banks but typically they will offer a very competitive rate. For more details on how to apply for a loan, please contact our office.

Bursary Program

For those enrolled in the Ivey Executive MBA program and incurring major travel costs, there is assistance available to help subsidize those significant costs. Please enquire about this if you believe you might qualify.
